A confidentiality agreement needs to be signed between the secondee, the seconding organisation and the receiving organisation.  This is necessary to ensure binding arrangements are in place between the organisations involved and the secondee and to help comply with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

Please note: If a seconded individual holds a current regulated professional registration that includes a professional duty of confidentiality, then a confidentiality agreement does not need to be signed.

The Regional IG Steering Group (IGSG) has approved the processing of confidential information by staff on secondment without the need for the seconded staff to complete the full range of IG training normally required by the Practice where the seconding organisation has adequate IG arrangements in place.  (For example, a current “satisfactory” DSPT submission or membership of the Regional ISA framework.)

The documents below can be used by your organisation to address the confidentiality arrangements between your organisation and any secondees you receive.

A briefing note for the seconding and receiving organisations that sets out the key IG considerations and an example process for implementing the secondment arrangements.  (Practice version or Trust version.)

A template for a confidentiality agreement which can be used for the secondment arrangements.  This is available as a PDF (Practice version or Trust version) and as a Microsoft Word document (Practice version or Trust version) for printing and manually signing.

To minimise the administrative effort of implementing these arrangements the confidentiality agreements may be signed electronically using the Adobe Sign secure electronic signature platform rather than the traditional and currently less safe manual approach.

Please use the attached template to provide the Regional ISA Administrator with the details of the secondment or secondments you want to support with this approach.

If you are going to use the electronic signature method, to get started, just send us a completed secondment detail template.

Please provide the completed secondment detail templates to us on the ISA helpdesk using (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
